A glass trap is a simple yet highly effective device designed to attract and capture insect pests. It consists of glass glass-shaped plastic container with a lid and an enticing pheromone lure inside. The insect gets attracted to the specific pheromone lure and enters the trap through the two side holes of the glass but once it enters, it cannot escape due to entrapment in the trap.
It is used along with a pheromone lure in various places such as crop fields, green houses, Orchards and Vineyards –To catch fruit fly on various fruits such as Guava, Mango, Orange.
It is used along with a pheromone lure to catch melon fly in crop fields of various vegetables and fruits such as Cucumber, luffa, muskmelon, squash, pumpkin, kharbuja and watermelon.
Glass traps can employ various pheromone lures such as fruit fly and melon fly lures to attract them. The choice of pheromone depends on the target pest.
Insect pest gets attracted to the glass trap by the scent of a lure. Once it enters, it cannot find the way out due to its design. Thus, the glass trap catches the insect pest.

How to Use
- Tie the wooden block i.e. lure or bait, through the inner side of the glass.
- Further traps with lures should be fastened to the trees using the same metal wires at a height of 4-5 feet depending on the height of the crop.
- The number of traps to be installed may vary depending on the field size. We suggest using 10-15 traps per acre.
- Remove the captured insects from a trap, once it is filled with insects and again install it.
